Parasitology - Introduction to the important protozoa and helminthes in man. Outline of the life history of plasmodium, Typanasoma. Liver fluke, tape worm and round worm. The structure and life history and physiology of amoeba and mosquito (Anopheles and culex).
An intriduction to the classification of plants with specific examples, characterization of the following medicinally important plant families with specific examples. Leguminosae, Rutaceae, Apocyanaceae, Solonaceae, Liliaceae, Rubiaceae, Scrophularaceae, Compositae, Umbelliferae and papaveraceae.
Study of general morphological and histological characteristics of stem, flower, root, seed and fruit. Fertilization and methods of propogation of plants.
